Hello Sophisticated Spenders!
Podcast Movement is here!
Podcast Movement is “THE gathering place for anyone interested or involved with podcasting” and this year it’s in my hometown of Chicago!
I thought I’d create a quick guide to the city!
Transportation: Getting around the city is pretty easy. The Hyatt is an amazing place to have a convention. The elevated train or EL has stops right inside of both O’Hare and Midway. The busses and trains run 24 hours. There’s also Uber (Click here for $15 off your first ride). There’s a pedway (pedestrian walkway) that runs underneath the city. Click here to see a map (#55 is the Hyatt). There are a few bars and restaurants in the pedway too.
Food: The BIG bar is inside the Hyatt and is a pretty cool place and has a cool view of the city. There are food trucks at the Daley Center (about a half mile from the Hyatt). Try some Harold’s chicken.
Fun: Taste of Chicago! This is HUGE! It’s an outdoor food festival where you will have a chance to sample all of Chicago’s awesome food. And there are free activities and concerts. This year’s lineup include:
There’s also Chicago Summer Dance! It’s Pretty much an outdoor dance party. And also on Michigan ave. Click here for more info.
Fitness: You can work out for free thanks to Millennium Park Workouts. Here’s the schedule:
Or you can take a spin class with Blazin cycle at 12th Street beach! Bikes are $15 and their schedule is here:
I hope this mini-guide was helpful!
I am available for any and all questions!
Please enjoy the Podcast Movement 16 and I’ll be following the #pm16 hashtag and look forward to following you all on your journey!
And shout out to all of my friends who have podcasts! Congratulations and good luck!

Chicago is one of my favorite cities in the country. I’m not going to the Podcast Movement or the Taste, but I wish I were.
Me too! My trips home are always too short!
