Hello Sophisticated Spenders!
It’s time to look back at those life goals that I made back in January.
Here’s how this works. I have the original post below with my updates in parenthesis.
It’s VERY important to look forward and look back. It’s also VERY important to make changes to the things that are not working.
Blogging:
-I will post twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My old MWF schedule was a bit too much. (In January I only missed 1 (out of 8) posts. February I was at 50% with 4 out of 8. March was terrible. I only had 1 post out of 9. I made a small comeback in April with 4 out of 8 again. I keep saying I’ll hire help on this task. I hired a proofreader and she’s edited a couple of posts already. I’m not missing any more posts this year!)
-I owe you some recaps! I need to wrap up my Food Subscription Box Experiment and the conclusion of My Adventures in the Male Dominated World of Day Trading. (I’m at 50% on this one too. I finally wrapped up my Food Subscription Box Experiment (click here to read that post…Are They Worth It? Food Subscription Boxes Like Hello Fresh and Blue Apron: See What’s Inside Here). I am still working on wrapping up my day trading post. I have a draft in the works.)
-More collaborations. I’m friends with some pretty cool bloggers who can help you in areas that I am inexperienced. I will work on sharing their talents with you! (I’ve shared a few posts, which is actually not the same as a collaboration. (The Financial Summit, Starting Your Amazon Side Hustle and The Financial Success Planner). So I guess I HAVE to say I’ve been a failure at that.)
-Consistency. I’ve been pretty inconsistent and will improve in that area. (I’ve posted 17 out of 34 posts. Which is exactly 50%. I guess it’s a glass half empty or glass half full kinda deal here…right???)
-Book. I have a book in the works that’ll also have a challenge attached to it. (No progress on the book thanks to the sewing business. But I just signed up for a twitter #cashchat about my FREE eBook: 5 Reasons You Haven’t Started Your Side Hustle (And How To Fix That!). (Grab it here, it’s free). The #cashchat is at noon E.S.T. on June 16th. I will keep you updated as the time approaches.)
-Travel. People keep asking me how I book all of my cheap travel deals. It’s time to host a one time webinar showing others how to do it. (Haven’t done this yet….I will schedule a date after I get back from Japan! And I’ll have a few giveaways during the webinar. I’ll also want to highlight that I’ve now been to 18 countries and islands, no credit card debt and I didn’t use any travel rewards points. I’m not airline or hotel loyal so I don’t make decisions based on how many points I’ll receive. So please look out for that webinar.)
-Other websites. I also need to host a one time webinar showing others how to start their own website. I’ve been helping a few people on a one on one basis and this is VERY time consuming. (See Book update above.)
Home:
-Clutter. Sigh, this has ALWAYS been an issue for me. I am looking for the card for the person who will clean my house. The sewing business is slowly taking all of my closet space and it’s time to re-organize everything. (I have been decluttering! And it feels great. I’ve donated 3 large trash bags of stuff. I still have a ways to go. But I’m just happy I finally started the process. And the sewing stuff will now be in the new studio!)
-Dating. No Comment. (Still no comment here…one day. Keep hope alive for me peeps. The right guy will be sent at the right time.)
Travel:
-I plan on getting some (international) sun at least 6 times this year. My original goal was 12 times. That can actually still happen! (I went to Chicago twice and St Croix once. So I have 1 out of 6 trips to the sun under my belt. I WILL make it to 6).
Fitness:
-I love teaching Zumba and INSANITY. My preference is to only teach within a walking radius of my home. I just don’t have the energy or time to drive all around town when I can just walk across the street. (I’ve stayed pretty consistent with this goal. I taught 1 out of radius class in January and FINALLY got paid in April. I also taught a Zumba for kids class. So I was punished twice for breaking my rule. The first punishment was having to harass the owner to get paid and the second was that it was a kids class…enough said. lol)
Sewing:
–Organize the fabric and machines so that it’s all ready to roll for classes. (I did a GREAT job of this. I even have each project packaged in cellophane bags so it’s easier for the students to make their color selections.)
-Redesign my website. It can be brighter and flow better. (I’m working on this…today! I have a click funnels account that I have NOT been taking full advantage of.)
-Figure out marketing (understatement of the century). (That’s still a work in progress but I’ve been attending a LOT more networking events. And I am wearing pieces that I’ve made. Hoping to turn those into conversation starters.)
Life:
-One thing at a time. I can’t be great if I’m being pulled in a million different directions. (Still working on this one too! lol I can’t seem to stop adding new things to my plate!)

Awesome goals Sophisticated Spender! I’ve been thinking about my goals a bit recently since I really only made plans up to the mid-year ^_^
I wrote a bit about goal planning here: https://www.enrichmentality.com/how-can-i-make-smarter-money-goals/ around this time last year.
So resolutions aren’t just for new years after all!
Have a great weekend!
