I am back!
I’ve been side hustling my a$$ off!
Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Trained By Crystal (Sewing): This website is all about sewing. I’ll post my online sewing classes here. So far I have 3 package levels where; 1…you buy everything yourself and just follow along; 2…I send you fabric and materials; or 3…I send you everything and you receive extra time with me. So far I’ve only made 2 sales thru this channel.
Sip and Sew Old Town: I’ve created an in-person class! I reached out to a local business in my neighborhood and they agreed to let me host my class there on Sundays. They receive a few dollars per sale so it’s a win-win for both of us. My first class had 0 sales so I REALLY need to figure out ways to get the word out about my class. Website help: I am helping 3 people with creating their own websites. I am in the process of making this a more streamlined process. My goal is to turn this into a webinar so that anyone who would like to start their own website can watch it and understand EVERYTHING about starting their own website and take off running!
So that’s what I’ve been working on. I’d like to thank all of the people who have been making comments and suggestions along the way. The feedback has been amazing. I just need to sit down and implement everything that I am learning. I was stuck in an “information gathering” mode and now it’s time to start acting.
Starting websites and webinars and workshops are not as easy as it looks. I’ve spent countless hours on the setup but I believe I finally have the routine down to a science. And I’m looking forward to sharing ALL that I’ve learned with you (successes and failures).
My next post will include some numbers (yikes). I’ve been avoiding tallying up all of the money spent on creating these side hustles. But this will give me a target amount that I need to make in order to be in the black!
I’ve signed up for a counselor with the Alexandria Small Business Development Center. I attended a networking event there and met a bunch of awesome (local) small business owners and I will reach out to them about placing my flyers in their windows.
