Friday Five: Library

friday, five, library, sophisticated spender

Hello Sophisticated Spenders!

It’s my favorite day of the week!

Friday!

This week’s Friday Five is brought to you by your local public library!

  1. When’s the last time you’ve been to the library?
  2. Where was it? How long were you there?
  3. Why’d you go?
  4. Largest fine you’ve ever had to pay?
  5. Tell me a memory about the Library.
  6. Any Library trips planned?

My Turn!

1:  I went to my local library about a couple months ago.

2:  My local library is 3 miles from my house and I was there for like half a day.

3:  No I wasn’t there to vote!  I needed a change in scenery.  I wanted to get some blog work done and I couldn’t do it at home because my place is full of distractions! (I don’t know how to concentrate on my own.)

4:  I know I’ve paid some fines but I don’t quite recall how much.  The last fine I paid was around 10 years ago when I first moved to the DC area.  I didn’t have internet yet so I was at the library every day.  Printing off maps of the area and looking for touristy social events.

5:  I remember walking the library as a kid and having a great time.  That was my escape.  My imagination immediately transposed me into the main characters in the story books.  TV couldn’t compare with books.  My favorite part of the trip was picking out a book (or 7) to bring home with me to read.  I used to feel so rich-like I was on a shopping spree.  I could pick out whatever I liked, no matter how big or small.

6:  I really want to visit the DC Public Library.  They have a 3D printer and fab (fabrication) lab!  I have a few items I’d LOVE to make.  Maybe I’ll put that on my to do list!  (Ben, I’m coming to visit you at your library!)

7: Bonus: Funny story about my last library visit…So there was a guy there with large headphones on.  He was sitting at one of the desks with a hutch.  It was facing a wall and his back was to us.  Well…he kept farting really really loud!  And would giggle and laugh afterwards.  Nobody else thought it was funny.  And I KNOW he knew we could hear em.  So that’s what cut my library trip short the last time I was there.

YOUR turn!!!!!

I want to hear your thoughts about the Library in the comments below!

And if you know a library person, please share so I can hear from them!!!
