Hello Sophisticated Spenders!
Today is the first day of Lent.
I am NOT catholic, but I know this a time when a lot of non-catholics give up a bad habit for the 40 days of Lent.
I’m all for it!
I support any cause that will move a whole bunch of people to do better for 40 days.
Here are the 3 areas of life where I hope to make some improvements:
1: Clutter! This year, I will give away 1 item per day for 40 days! I always have an ongoing declutter project. So the timing is perfect!
2: Food! I’d also like to eat a little better. Cut down on the “cheat” days. Most people eat well during the week and allow cheat days on the weekends. I’ve had so many cheat days, I can’t even keep track!
3: Money! I actually stayed on budget last month. But I normally go waaay over budget following a good month. Kind of like how people go overboard on eating sweets after they give em up for a long time.
4: Blog! The 40 Days of Dating Project has been really great for me (and this blog). (I’ve pledged to spend 40 Days Dating my blog.) I hope you’ve noticed the few small improvements. I still can’t figure out why the title of the blog posts are not showing up in the emails.
What are you giving up for Lent this year? Is there anything you need to work on?

For the past 3 years I’ve done something for Lent. I’ve got to figure out what I’m doing in the next couple of hours. Feeling the pressure!
Instead of giving something up for Lent I am going to add something. I am going to read my Bible more and give more time to others.
