Hello Sophisticated Spenders!
I can’t believe 2014 is coming to a very fast end.
And there are a LOT of things I want you to spend some time and ponder before the end of the year.
Today we will start on how to improve your financial behaviors.
Which brings me to today’s question:
What Financial Behavior Do You Wish You Could Change?
I have so many things I wish I could change that I don’t even know where to begin!
But here’s where I would start:
1: Prioritizing Debt! I’m still confused about which debt to pay off first. Should I focus on lower balances or higher interest rates? My indecision has me sitting here not doing anything about it at all when I should be a little more focused.
2: Buying Stocks on Impulse! I’ve been buying a few stocks strictly on impulse. I have NOT been doing any research on the companies or looking at their charts or fundamentals (hello Facebook & Twitter). So my plan is to take it easy on buying stocks.
3: Gifts! I have a HUGE problem with buying things that are on clearance or super cheap or in pieces and parts with intentions on turning them into these nice & extravagant gift baskets-I have yet to make a single gift basket. I will stop it with the buying stuff for gift baskets.
4: Food! I have been throwing out waay too much food. It will either expire, grow mold or I take some meat out to cook and it goes bad because other (free food) events come up and I no longer have the need (or desire) to cook.
5: Clothes! I actually don’t shop as often as I used to. But when I shop, I tend to go crazy and over-buy. I actually have a sweater and I’m like, “What was I thinking when I bought this dumb sweater?”
6: Makeup & Nail Polish! I have enough makeup and nail polish to single handedly put on around 1,000 shows on Broadway. I don’t need any more makeup or nail polish, but I’m willing to bet something super cute, that I just can’t pass up will catch my eye and I’ll end up buying more before the end of the year.
I actually think there are more things on my list but I’ll stop here and let you guys have your say.

I need to stop buying shoes/boots. I need to purge some of items I don’t wear already. I need to not buy every healthy food item I see and buy only one week’s worth of groceries. My food too tends to go bad before i am able to eat it.
I would like to sign up for your blog but can’t figure out how. Please help. Still enjoying reading it and I am learning so much. Thanks!! ☺️
I’m working on the email signup list Stacie. I need to make a few changes around here. Thanks for your feedback.
And yes! I am challenging myself to not buy any clothes this year and it’s opened my eyes to a whole bunch of bad habits. Still working on my food and grocery bad habits too.
